October SoTL Roundup

Monthly SoTL roundup

We are back with the latest installment of the monthly SoTL roundup, wherein, each month (as the name implies), I scroll through Journal of Political Studies Education, Politics, PS: Political Science & Politics, International Studies Perspectives, and European Political Science to bring to you, esteemed ALPS reader, the latest Scholarship of Teaching and Learning publications.

After last month’s double-feature SoTL feast, I’m sorry to report that it is lean times in this month’s SoTL round-up.

However, I will simply take that to mean that there is a building of SoTL energy with much more to come in the coming months.

Read on to see this month’s Politics SoTL output…

Journal of Political Science Education

Dolan, T. M. (2026). Balance of Power Tug-of-War: Teaching Polarity and Stability Through Embodied, Problem-Based Play. Journal of Political Science Education, 1–17.

Pan, M., & Hua, Z. (2026). Teaching the History of Western Political Thought in Chinese Universities: A Framework of Context, Dialogue, and Application. Journal of Political Science Education, 1–16.

So, two pieces, but two very interesting pieces! I hope you’ll enjoy them and see you back here next month for more.

If you think I have missed anything or would like a piece not published in one of the above five journals, please let me know. I’d be happy to include it in the future.
