As I mentioned back in June, this fall I’ll be teaching a brand new first-year seminar to incoming college students, in which I’ve decided to include some explicit instruction in study skills. While looking for ideas on how to do this I stumbled across these great resources from the Altshuler Learning Enhancement Center (A-LEC) at Southern Methodist University:
- How college is different from high school
- Tips for first-year students
- Condensing a semester’s worth of syllabi into a single-page grid
The A-LEC website also has tools for students’ to improve their time management abilities here.
