European Parliament, playing cards, redux

Having proudly told you of my brainwave last week, I had to pony up on Friday. That’s when I played version 1.1 on my game that simulates the dynamics of the European Parliament with my INOTLES colleagues.

As I anticipated, there were some teething difficulties, but once we got going, it went just great and it seems like a very good way into understanding the institution in a much more efficient way than the usual type of game we’d use.

Consequently, I have made some changes, written an info sheet for players and generally scoped it a bit more.

I’m playing this revised version (possibly with further modifications) later this week at the first European Conference on Teaching and Learning Politics, International Relations and European Studies, running at Maastricht, so I’ll report on how it goes once more.
